The following is a typical conduit fill chart, which shows data for different types of conduit such as EMT conduit, IMC conduit, and GRC conduit. The possible wire gauges go from 14 AWG to 750 MCM, and from conduit trade sizes of 1/2 inches to 4 inches. This conduit ill table is used to determine how many wires can be safely put into non-PVC conduit tubing or pipe. Each row going across is a diferent size and type of conduit, either EMT, IMC, or galvanized pipe (rigid metal conduit, RMC). Each column (going up and down) is a diferent gauge of wire.

EMT conduit stands for electrical metallic tubing. As it's name implies, it is a type of conduit that is made out of metal, typically coated steel or aluminum. EMT conduit is different from other types of metallic conduit such as GRC conduit (galvanized rigid conduit) or RMC conduit (rigid metal conduit) in it's wall thinkness. The most commonly used tool for pulling wire through conduit is fish tape, an electrician's tool with a long, flat metal wire wound inside a wheel-shaped spool.
